Rookies Basketball League
Teams consisting of first and second grade girls and boys along with an adult player/coach are forming now for our Rookies Basketball League. It’ll be five-on-five with a parent joining the action. Basic game rules will be introduced, but loosely enforced. Team rosters will be eight to ten players with a parent/coach. The first team practice will be held the week after Thanksgiving. Teams will generally practice once per week for one hour. Home games after the first of the year will be held on Mondays or Thursdays at either 6pm or 7pm. Away games at the Medinah Park District's Connolly Recreation Center will be scheduled based on gym availability, generally on Saturdays, time varying. Each team will play a total of 8 games. All players will receive a team T-shirt before the first game, and a medal at the last game.
