Tai Chi is a gentle, low impact form of mind-body exercise with smooth, flowing movements that contain a surprising inner power to strengthen the body and calm the mind while promoting better health and increased relaxation. The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program uses the Sun Style of tai chi and is designed to be safe and easy on the joints, to improve balance and to be easy to learn. This class is appropriate for all adults, but is especially well suited for those 50+ who would like increased strength, coordination and flexibility, decreased joint pain, improved balance and posture, decreased stress and an increased sense of well-being.
Tai Chi requires no special equipment and is generally performed standing. This form, however, can also be done seated as needed for safety.
