The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program uses the Sun Style of tai chi and is designed to be safe and easy on the joints, to improve balance and to be easy to learn. This class is appropriate for all adults, but is especially well suited for those 50+ who would like increased strength, coordination and flexibility, decreased joint pain, improved balance and posture, decreased stress and an increased sense of well-being.Tai Chi requires no special equipment and is generally performed standing. 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM	Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention - Beginning Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention (Jun 18-Jul 23) Tai Chi is a gentle, low impact form of mind-body exercise with smooth, flowing movements that contain a surprising inner power to strengthen the body and calm the mind while promoting better health and increased relaxation. The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program uses the Sun Style of tai chi and is designed to be safe and easy on the joints, to improve balance and to be easy to learn. This class is appropriate for all adults, but is especially well suited for those 50+ who would like increased strength, coordination and flexibility, decreased joint pain, improved balance and posture, decreased stress and an increased sense of well-being.Tai Chi requires no special equipment and is generally performed standing. 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM	Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention - Beginning Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention (Jun 18-Jul 23) Tai Chi is a gentle, low impact form of mind-body exercise with smooth, flowing movements that contain a surprising inner power to strengthen the body and calm the mind while promoting better health and increased relaxation. The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program uses the Sun Style of tai chi and is designed to be safe and easy on the joints, to improve balance and to be easy to learn. This class is appropriate for all adults, but is especially well suited for those 50+ who would like increased strength, coordination and flexibility, decreased joint pain, improved balance and posture, decreased stress and an increased sense of well-being.Tai Chi requires no special equipment and is generally performed standing. The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program uses the Sun Style of tai chi and is designed to be safe and easy on the joints, to improve balance and to be easy to learn. This track is for dancers of all ages and experience levels who are looking for a progressive session and higher commitment level.  Class will include 1 family observation and 1 in class performance.  NEW THIS YEAR: PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE!!! Within this program, participants can engage in core studio-level dance classes. All park studio classes are held at Medinah Park District’s Connolly Recreation Center. In the event of inclement weather or Covid-19 shut downs classes will be held virtually on Zoom.
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM	Zumba - Zumba (Jul 6-27) This one-hour energetic workout will have you sweating in no time. With Latin-based rhythms, motivating music, and easy-to-follow combinations, this total-body workout combines all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, and boosted positive energy. Remember your water bottle, and come ready for a dance party!
7:45 PM - 9:00 PM	DANCE IV - DANCE IV Dance IV summer session is a condensed version of our school year session.  We will  use the summer month for targeted strength and conditioning and then explore different dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap technique as well as Hip Hop, Contemporary and Improv. This is the perfect class for older dancers looking to excel in dance in a well rounded way. Check out our Counselor-In-Training program! This program offers a great chance to develop leadership skills, learn about behavior management, improve communication, and make decisions alongside your fellow campers and counselors. You'll help with tasks like preparing crafts, leading activities, and more! By signing up, you'll remain enrolled as a camper and will need to complete the required parent manuals.

Sign up for the Medinah Park District’s popular summer camp, where your child is sure to have a spectacular time. We’re committed to delivering the ultimate camp experience, and your fee covers a host of exciting features. Our 10-week program will include weekly off-site field trips, engaging guest speakers, fun activities, crafts, and plenty of free play. Be sure to dress comfortably, as most of the camp is outdoors. Campers will be grouped by their upcoming grade level: K-2nd grade and 3rd-6th grade.
